Overview
The elchi automation API — a versioned REST API for scripts and pipelines, with project API tokens, problem+json errors, idempotent writes, long-running operations and rate limits.
API tokens
Project API tokens for the automation API — who can create them, scopes, expiry, how a token is checked on every request, and revoking one.
Errors and codes
Every error code of the elchi automation API — its HTTP status, what it means, whether to retry, and what to do; the conflict reasons; the problem body.
Endpoints (disable and enable)
Take an upstream endpoint (an IP or a hostname, every port or some) out of rotation everywhere it is used in a project, and put it back, through the automation API.
Clusters (blue/green switch)
Point an EDS cluster at another endpoints resource (backend-blue to backend-green, and back) through the automation API; every listener that uses the cluster gets it at once.
